Setiap hari kita
bertemu dengan banyak orang yang berbeda-beda dan kita menyapa mereka. Sapaan
(greeting) yang kita gunakan harus disesuaikan dengan situasi dan kondisi
saat itu. Biasanya ungkapan dalam greeting ada yang formal/resmi dan
informal/tidak resmi. Ungkapan resmi untuk orang yang baru kita kenal atau
dihormati. Sedangkan ungkapan informal untuk menyapa orang yang sudah dikenal
dekat.

disekitarnya. Saat itulah ungkapan introducing ourselves and others
digunakan.

and Responding to Command
Terkadang kita ingin
orang lain melakukan sesuatu untuk kita. Untuk itu, kita memberikan perintah
kepada mereka. Dalam bahasa Inggris, commanding biasanya disebutkan dalam
bentuk kalimat imperative.
