Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari kita sering mendapatkan sesuatu atau bantuan dari orang lain. Sebagai tanda kita menghargai hal tersebut, maka kita seharusnya berterim kasih kepada mereka (thanking).

Untuk memecahkan suatu masalah biasanya kita meminta pendapat dari orang lain (asking for opinion) dan mereka akan memberikan kita pendapat (giving opinion).
Berikut ini beberapa ungkapan yang dapat digunakan untuk meminta dan memberikan pendapat kepada orang lain (asking for and giving opinion):

Asking for opinion:

Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari ada banyak hal yang kita suka (likes) dan yang tidak disukai (dislikes). Untuk mengungkapkan kesukaan dan ketidaksukaan, kita dapat menggunakan beberapa ungkapan dalam bahasa inggris.

Berikut ini beberapa ungkapan yang dapat digunakan untuk menanyakan apa yang disukai dan tidak disukai oleh orang lain:

Berikut ini beberapa ungkapan yang dapat digunakan untuk meminta dan memberikan  klarifikasi (asking for and giving clarification):

Ada banyak hal yang terjadi disekitar kita yang pasti kebenarannya dan belum tahu kebenarannya. Hal-hal seperti ini perlu untuk diungkapkan agar tidak menimbulkan permasalahan dan kesalahpahaman.

Pada umumnya untuk menanyakan apakah kita tahu pasti akan suatu hal (asking for certainty), dapat menggunakan ungkapan-ungkapan berikut ini:

·         Will it be okay if..?
·         Forgive me,but are you certain about..?
